On September 6, the Travis Manion Foundation will host a 5K race in Madisonville to unite the community to remember the sacrifices of the heroes of September 11th and the heroes of all the wars since.

The Madisonville 9/11 Heroes Run 5K races will take place in downtown Madisonville on Saturday, September 6 at 8:00pm. Prior to the race, there will be an Opening Ceremony beginning at 7:30pm to honor the Hopkins Co. Purple Heart recipients). There will also be a family-friendly 1M fun run/walk. A portion of the proceeds from the race will benefit the Travis Manion Foundation, which offers veterans and families of the fallen unique opportunities to help them take the next step in their journeys and accomplish their personal and professional goals. Also, a large portion of the proceeds will stay in the local community to support the Patrick Rudd Project and provide mini grants to the Hopkins Co. First Responders for equipment and training.

Last year's event in Madisonville attracted over 1,000 people and over 30,000 participated in 9/11 Heroes Runs around the world.
