What on Earth is Boston Dynamics’ WildCat? [Video]

Hmmmm . . . I am not going to lie.  I saw the Terminator and Matrix movies.  I have heard all the warnings about machines attacking us and taking over and ruling the world.  And I am pretty sure THIS is how it all begins.  Have you all seen this thing?  Boston Dynamics has developed a four-legged robot that can run up to speeds of 16 miles per hour.  This thing is a freak show and I feel like Keanu Reeves.  You'll see what I mean when you watch the WildCat in action . . .

I run on the Greenbelt in Owensboro nearly every day and I am telling you right now.  If I ever see anything like that running in my direction, I will immediately fall to the ground, roll into the fetal position and play dead.  There aren't enough expletives in the world to describe what I think about that thing or what I would do if I looked up and saw it running in my direction.

Is it ingenious?  Yes.  No doubt.  Is it an impressive scientific and robotic achievement?  Abso-freaking-lutely.  Does it remind me of War of the Worlds?  Without question.  And, like in that movie, I hope it catches a cold and dies.
