World’s Oldest Golden Retriever Lives in Tennessee [VIDEO]

I can't do this without bringing up the old Hanna-Barbera cartoon Augie Doggie & Doggie Daddy. Remember it?

Okay, well, I say that because there is a REAL, non-cartoon dog named Augie in Tennessee.

And he is REALLY old, bless his heart. But he's still going after 20 years.

Yes, there is a golden retriever in Tennessee who just turned 20, making Augie the oldest known golden retriever on the planet.

Now, I don't know if he's the oldest golden retriever EVER, but I bet he's close if not.

You know, it's not unheard of for dogs to live much longer than any of us might expect. But 20 years is quite something. My friend Jeff who lives in Cleveland lost his cat Murphy 10 years ago at the age of 20. But maybe cats have a better shot at numbers like that. I don't know.
