10 Fun and Tasty Facts About Owensboro Burger Week

Owensboro Burger Week 2024 runs Friday, March 1st through Saturday, March 9th and folks around the Tristate have been making plans to spend the next week and two days eating as many burgers as they can. To celebrate the proverbial opening day of the fourth year of the event, we decided to share some fun facts about Burger Week!

By the way, in 2023, Katy Tierney (a 3rd grade teacher at Estes Elementary School) created an unofficial Burger Week spreadsheet when her husband saw the list of participating restaurants and remarked, "We're going to need a spreadsheet." Since Katy loves making them, she vowed to make one and did. For 2024, she teamed up with Visit Owensboro to create the Official Burger Week Guide and it's a valuable resource! It comes with pro tips, geographical groupings of participating restaurants and a ratings system so you can score each burger that you try. The guide also features descriptions and photos of each $7 burger being served.

Remember, in addition to you getting the opportunity to help select the inaugural People's Choice winner (sponsored by German American Bank), you can also win prizes during Owensboro Burger Week. You're encouraged to snap photos when you eat Burger Week burgers, post them on social media and use the hashtag #owensboroburgerweek.
