If you've tuned in to 92.5 over the last two days you know that we've been asking for donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. If you don't know about St. Jude, it's not just a children's hospital that treats kiddos with cancer. It's a place of healing for body, mind, and soul. Kids with various life-threatening illnesses from all over the world and their families travel to St. Jude for treatment. And families are never charged for anything while they are at St. Jude. No meals, no lodging, no transportation - all so they can focus on the wellbeing of their child.

St. Jude is also a research hospital so the leading doctors and researchers in the field have access to the latest technologies. The best part - St. Jude freely shares its findings with the medical community. If you know anyone who has been affected by cancer, there's a good chance some part of their cancer treatment was created by St. Jude. St. Jude isn't about big business. They are about saving LIVES.

And speaking of lives, since it opened, St. Jude has raised its survival rate from 20% to 80%. That's amazing when you think about the fact that they take in the sickest kids who, without treatment, wouldn't make it.

I'll be honest - with gas costing over $3 a gallon and eggs being... well, we won't even talk about the price of eggs right now, I wasn't sure so sure that we'd be able to match last year's total. But wow, our community never ceases to amaze me.
