We were hoping maybe just maybe the 25th St. Rite Aid would be saved, but it's not to be. Here's what we know.

Earlier in the year Walgreens bought Rite Aid and we all started wondering what would become of the locations in Owensboro. I'm a Rite Aid shopper. The staff is SO friendly and even call you by name when you walk through the door. They are HUGE supporters of Christmas Wish and help whenever possible. I can't say enough about the staff at Rite Aid.

The Rite Aid locations on 4th St. and Sherm Rd. closed a couple of months ago and we were just waiting on the fate of the 25th St. location which is MY Rite Aid. Well, now we know and I'm not a happy camper. They're officially closing in a month. Over the weekend much of the store was reduced to 50% off. Diapers, Household Cleaners, Toilet Paper, Cosmetics, Perfume, Laundry Detergent and much more are at deep discounts. In a few weeks everything in the store will be reduced to 70% off.

Prescriptions have already been moved over to Walgreen's.

The staff recently went through the interview process to see if they can be moved to a Walgreens store.

The Rite Aid on West Parrish will remain and become a Walgreens location. Unsure if there will be a sale during the transition.

Although, losing the store is a bad deal, you can get a good deal with big sales!
