A Huge Rodeo and a Terri Clark Concert on Consecutive Nights in Greenville, Kentucky
The Greenville Tourism Commission has stealthily been working on something for the summer of 2022 that we are ALL going to love.
THE BLUEGRASS PRCA RODEO IN MUHLENBERG COUNTY
On August 12th, the Muhlenberg County Ag and Convention Center will host the first annual Bluegrass PRCA Rodeo, with contestants from all over the country descending upon Powderly, Kentucky that Friday night and then again on Saturday for tons of exciting rodeo action.
TERRI CLARK AND ANDY BRASHER IN CONCERT IN MUHLENBERG COUNTY
Following Saturday's rodeo, it's a concert starring two of my favorite people--my friend Andy Brasher who, with his band, will be opening for country music star Terri Clark. Rodeo tickets will include admission to the concert.
We were just talking about Andy the other night and I believe I've known him for about 16 years, ever since he first auditioned for Goldie's Survivor back in the mid-2000s.
TERRI CLARK -- A LOT OF HITS TO CHOOSE FROM
And long before I'd met Andy, I became an instant fan of Terri Clark's, whose throaty, powerhouse alto was responsible for 10 top-ten hits and two #1 songs--"You're Easy on the Eyes" and "Girls Lie Too." And it all started with her top-three debut hit, the super-clever "Better Things to Do."
I mentioned earlier that Andy is a friend of mine. Obviously, I don't know Terri Clark nearly enough to say the same thing about her...but she DOES LOVE me. (Wink, wink)
That was taken in either 1996 or 1997 when she opened for somebody at Roberts Stadium. Wow, I couldn't be more vague if I tried, could I? Well, this is NOT vague. Terri Clark is a dynamic presence on a concert stage, making it difficult--for me, anyway, after seeing her live--to determine just exactly WHICH of her songs is my favorite. But I think I'll go with one that made it into the top twenty but not the top ten--a great song called "A Little Gasoline."
I hope she gets to that one, but she has a LOT of hits to cover. I mentioned before that Terri had 10 top ten hits here in the States, but that number goes up to 16 in her native Canada.
