Become A Civil Air Patrol Cadet In Owensboro [PHOTO]
In the late 1930s, more than 150,000 volunteers with a love for aviation argued for an organization to put their planes and flying skills to use in defense of their country.
As a result, the Civil Air Patrol was born one week prior to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. The CAP is still very active today all over the United States and we are fortunate enough to have a program right here in Owensboro. The program allows for youth, adult, and pilots to participate.
To become a part of the CAP program or for more information check out their website. Or you can attend the next informational meeting on Tuesday, January 17, at 6 p.m. at the National Guard Armory, located at 3300 Tamarack Road.
