When a new year begins, we're flooded with information about all the excitement headed our way over the next 12 months. In Owensboro, we already have a multitude of events to look forward to.

Owensboro's New Indoor Sports Facility

We already have a list of huge happenings that are scheduled for the coming year, including the return of the Owensboro Air Show. And, the city is preparing to welcome a brand new indoor sports facility. Set to be located at the corner of 3rd and Cedar Streets in downtown Owensboro, the newly-named Bluegrass Fieldhouse has social media tongues wagging vigorously. This digital blueprint is likely a good reason why.

At 88,000 square feet, Bluegrass Fieldhouse is tailor-made to play host to huge sporting events hosted by the city. That, in turn, converts to solid tourism dollars.

Bluegrass Fieldhouse

The big reveal happened today in the Owensboro Convention Center, and the excitement for what's to come is palpable. As noted in the presentation, with Bluegrass Fieldhouse, Owensboro becomes a candidate not just for local sports tournaments, but also for tournaments that expand beyond the Daviess County borders. And my hat is off to Oddball Creative for the sweet logo.
