In the aftermath of the recent fires that destroyed homes and businesses in Gatlinburg, Dolly Partan has decided to donate $1,000 a month to victims. The donations will come from the recently established, "My People Fund", as well as funds from Dolly's various businesses. The donations will be given to anyone who has been left homeless by this week's fires. Parton said, "We want to provide a hand up to all those who have lost have everything in the fires. And to recover, we want to donate $1,000 a month to all the families who have lost their homes until they are back up on their feet."

While some of Gatlinburg's and Pigeon Forge's attractions were destroyed, Dollywood was spared. As of Thursday, 7 people had been killed, and 45 injured as a result of the fires, according to Tennessee Emergency Management. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all effected by the fires, both in Gatlinburg, and those who are effected closer to Western Kentucky
