Does anyone else follow local realtors to look at interesting local houses and be a little nosey? It's OK, I do too, I won't judge! I follow several house hustlers on social media. Especially fun ones like Natalie McCaslin. You never know where she will pop up next! (literally)

You may already know her from back when she made waves (literally) for her adorable house tour videos. Just in case you aren't familiar with her sweet dance moves, you can check out her inspiring story here.

Geodesic Home in Daviess County, KY

Anyway, she was cutting a rug on my TikTok feed the other night, and I immediately noticed this was not an ordinary house tour she was taking me on. This house was like nothing I had ever seen before! A Geodesic dome home out in East Daviess County. Keep scrolling for pictures, but here is a fun look inside:

"I had never been inside a home like this until last week, and I can honestly say it’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen before." Natalie said, "In all the best ways." She went on to explain:

"This home is a Geodesic Dome, which means it’s built from a series of triangles connected by a steel frame. That design actually makes it one of the strongest structures you can build because the triangles distribute weight evenly across the entire structure. On top of that, the dome shape allows wind and weather to move around the home instead of hitting it head-on like a traditional house."

That was a VERY smart move considering the way the weather is around here, and as Natalie told me, "that is just the tip of the igloo." Although the home in this video is not exactly the same, it gives you a great look into why this type of structure is so special.

Very cool! The home on Newbolt Rd. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, but the basement already has a split electrical run for two additional bedrooms if someone wanted to finish them out. I also love the cool little sitting/loft area that overlooks the main living space. You can really get a feel for the tall ceiling's awesome curved shape.

This home has SO much character while also offering safety and privacy. Sitting on 5.36 acres, the property includes a half-acre pond filled with catfish and bluegill, plus both a 2-car detached garage and a 2.5-car attached garage. Add in the pecan and apple trees, the hummingbirds that love to visit, and that sounds like a little piece of heaven to me! Maybe whoever buys it will let me come fishin'! This Geodesic Dome doesn't just look cool; it can withstand severe weather better than your average home.
