January 8, 2014, Elvis Presley's 79th Birthday is Wednesday. The "King of Rock 'N Roll", who got his start in country as the "Hillbilly Cat" died in 1977 but his memory is maintained in the minds of his millions of fans across the globe... including mine. As a tribute to his memory I have below two photos of me at Graceland. The first is Summer, 1968, with my late wife Linda. I apologize for the picture quality.

The gates were open when we arrived. So, we just drove up. A gentleman, who as it turned out was Elvis's uncle Vesper greeted us and showed us around the outside. We were not permitted to enter the house because, "Miss Delta won't have it". Delta was Elvis's aunt who occupied the upstairs area of Graceland until she passed.  What we were able to view was an incredible collection of cars in the rear of the house. I don't recall what they were but they looked expensive!

I went back to Graceland -- as a museum, not a home -- in 2001. I am pictured here in front of a photo background area, not the real thing.

I am most happy to report I no longer own any of the clothes I was wearing that day.

Now, for your listening and dancing pleasure five of my favorite Elvis tunes, comparatively obscure, that you may view on You Tube.  Elvis, thanks for the music and the memories.
