If you know, you know. And, YOU KNOW if you have ever eaten the green beans inside the Plymouth Rock Café at Holiday World in Santa Claus, Indiana! They are literally the best green beans I have ever shoveled into my mouth.

But, how did I now know this? How was I not aware that there are YouTube tutorials about how to make those green beans? Where has this pilgrim been? Has he actually been living under Plymouth Rock? Has his head been shoved up his own breeches?

This week, I got to spend some time at Holiday World. My friend and radio cohost, Mary-Katherine Maddox, and I visited the park Thursday to broadcast live and help the park kick off its 80th Anniversary Season. Because we both love any excuse to have Thanksgiving dinner outside of Thanksgiving, we decided to have lunch at Plymouth Rock Café in the park's Thanksgiving section.

Our friend Grant, who works in Holiday World's Marketing Department, joined us. It was during our lunch- when I was basically motorboating my plate of green beans- that I talked about (and demonstrated) how much I loved them. I also mentioned the time that my family ordered our Thanksgiving dinner from Holiday World. The park offered pre-packaged turkey dinners for a couple of years during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was brilliant and it gave hungry little pilgrims like me the chance to eat those green beans at home and bust out of our doublets.

But, get this! Grant informed me that there are videos about the green beans and how to make them on the internet.

Check it!  In this video from 14 YEARS AGO (again, where have I been??) Michelle literally walks you through it step by step, ingredient by ingredient.

Can we figure out a way to make videos scratch 'n' sniff?  Somebody? Anybody? Silicon Valley, where are ya?

The park shared another video about six years ago. Updated video, but same recipe and same magic. Shout out to Chandler for this one! You make those green beans, Boo.

So, there you have it, Pilgrims. You are now in possession of the recipe for Holiday World's famous green beans from Plymouth Rock Café. Now, any day can be Thanksgiving in your colony.
