An Owensboro, Kentucky family has decked the halls and the walls and now they've expanded their winter wonderland to the curb too. Shelley and Matt Hawkins live in the Deer Valley Subdivision in Daviess County and they're making sure their neighborhood is merry and bright this holiday season. According to Shelley, "Matt loves to decorate." Well, she isn't kidding. Earlier this week, he even gave their mailbox a Yuletide makeover.

Shelley says Matt typically likes to add something new to the family's outdoor Christmas display every year. This year, at the urging of their daughter Leighton, Matt completely transformed the family's mailbox into an impressive Tannenbaum. Shelley says, "Leighton saw it somewhere and asked Matt to recreate it."  If you ask, you shall receive.

Check this out! The Hawkins' family mailbox will inspire you to break out into the song, "O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!"

Yes! The Hawkins' mailbox is now fully engulfed in a faux fir. Heck, it even has lights, a tree topper, and Christmas tree skirt.

Anyone else reminded of the television show Survivor? Remember in the early days of that show when the contestants would get tree mail delivered to their camps? This gives "tree mail" an entirely new and festive meaning.

Here are some additional shots of the Christmas tree mailbox from different angles.

Plus, Shelley also provided a nighttime photo so you can see that their mailbox glows just like Rudolph's shiny red nose.
