How to Watch the June Strawberry Super Moon in Kentucky & Indiana (VIDEO)
The June sky has been busy for the past two weeks having both a solar and lunar moon. Tonight prepare yourself to watch the Full Strawberry Moon.
BEGINNING & END OF SEASONS
The Strawberry Moon is the last supermoon of springtime and the first full moon of the summer. This moon apparently has a big job marking both the end and the beginning of seasons. It was actually named by the Native Americans for a season of gathering strawberries.
SO CLOSE YOU CAN TOUCH IT
This vibrant moon will look like its' so close you could touch it but not really. It will be a whole lot brighter and appear closer as it orbits the earth.
OTHER NAMES
According to Kentucky.com, the Strawberry Moon has other names in the world like Honey Moon (LOL) because it is prime honey collecting time and June is often the marrying season.
HOW TO WATCH THE STRAWBERRY MOON
At 2:40 p.m. the moon is set to arrive in the sky here in Owensboro and will be visible for three days after it shows up. We will not actually be able to see the full brightness of the moon until evening time after the sun goes down.
