Indiana Woman Gets BIG Surprise When She Finds A Python While Dumpster Diving
One Indiana woman got the surprise of a lifetime while she was dumpster diving. She came face to face with a python and we've got the photo-EKKKKKK!
NOT EXACTLY WHAT SHE WAS LOOKING FOR
I have been asked not to share the woman's name who had the discovery of a lifetime last week while dumpster diving in Indiana but this may top all stories I have ever heard. Her daughter's mother-in-law shared the photo on a Dumpster Diving Facebook page and I asked if I could use the photo and they said absolutely.
Here's what happened;
My daughter in laws mother is out diving as we speak. She just found a giant python!! She was checking that one last dumpster on her way into work, so she wasn't able to wait for anyone to show up... She did say the skin was wrinkled.... That's a sign of hypothermia in snakes. If it wasn't dead when she found it, then it definitely didn't live long after that. From what I understand, those kinds of snakes don't live for more than like 6 or 7 hours in temperatures below like 70°
They did call the proper authorities to check on the snake. She did not want to get to close the animal. The dumpster was in an apartment complex and she was just doing a regular search. YIKES, I would have absolutely died. (SCROLL DOWN TO SEE THE SNAKE)
People find all kinds of crazy and awesome things while dumpster diving.
IS DUMPSTER DIVING ILLEGAL?
I mean you have to wonder is it really illegal to steal trash!? But the answer is a bit tricky so here's what we know;
Dumpster diving is not illegal in Kentucky. In fact, it is completely legal to go dumpster diving in the state of Kentucky. However, keeping an eye on the trespassing laws of your state is a must. Since every business and private residency is considered private property, dumpster diving without permission may lead to trespassing citations.
HERE'S THE SNAKE-NO JUST NO!
Here's the picture she took from the dumpster. That thing looks very alive to me. I can't believe that someone would throw it away. There are plenty of folks who would have taken it in or they could have contacted a zoo or sanctuary and let them have it.
CAN YOU GO DUMPSTER DIVING AT NIGHT?
The same rules apply to diving at night as they do during the day. You can't go on private property. You might want to consider where and when you go through. For instance here in Owensboro, we have the Neighborhood Clean-Up Days and lots of people throw away really good stuff. If you plan on going maybe do it in the daylight. I know I would be hot and bothered if someone was rummaging through my front yard in the middle of the night.
