Is Kentucky the Fattest State in America?
Want to know how Kentucky ranks on the scale of the nation's Fattest States? It’s among the top five, according to a new study released from WalletHub this morning.
Kentucky has been ranked as the 3rd fattest state in the 2019's Fattest States in America analysis by WalletHub. Not a place we want to be on the list, that's for sure.
Kentucky's obesity rates have increased over the past year. In the 2018 study, Kentucky landed at #4.
Our state made the Top 10 in in most of these key categories to earn the 3rd ranked position on the list:
According to the most recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than seven in 10 U.S. adults aged 20 and older are either overweight or obese. Rates are lower for children and adolescents but have risen drastically in the past few decades.
We have a lot of work to do to improve these rankings. Our life, health, family and children depend on it. I'll be the first to admit that I have WORK to do. I look in the mirror every day and see it for myself. How about you?
