Jack C. Fisher Park is about to enter its busiest season. But, by this time in 2020, it figures to look a little different than it does now.

Eyewitness News/WEHT is reporting that a multi-million dollar renovation plan is in the works for the popular park, one of Owensboro's MOST popular, in fact.

Drainage has been an issue; anyone driving by on the bypass have likely seen Jack C. Fisher Park transformed into Jack C. Fisher Lake after all this rain we've had this winter.

Needless to say, improvements to drainage on the ball fields will be a top priority, according to Owensboro Parks and Recreation director Amanda Rogers, who spoke with WEHT about the planned make-over.

An expanded parking lot and a new playground are also part of the package.

Plans have yet to be finalized, but when they are, they'll be presented as part of the city's next budget.
