Are there many more VISUAL country songs than Jamey Johnson's worldly, lived-in "In Color"? There can't be too many, right? Talk about painting a life portrait with the written word.

Oddly enough, that is the only hit, to date, for Johnson as an artist, even though he's written or co-written hits for several others. And that potent number served as his finale at the 2010 Big O Music Fest. Do you remember?

And then there's Randy Houser. I'm not sure there are too many BETTER voices in country music than Randy's. He's had a lot of hits, not surprisingly, but maybe my favorite--which didn't even crack the top ten--is "Anything Goes." I'll never forget the first time I heard it. I thought, "Who IS this guy?"

I ran into Randy back in 2015. We were down in Nashville doing live broadcasts at the Gaylord Opryland Resort, and Jaclyn Graves, her friend Amy, and I went to Losers over close to the Vanderbilt campus. It's a fun bar and one that country stars like to hang out in when they've got some time off. While we were there, Lee Brice, Jerrod Niemann, and Randy Houser stopped by. I caught up with Randy at the bar and we were chatting about his big hit "Like a Cowboy," my favorite of his releases. He's just a really good, down-to-earth guy and while I apologized for bending his ear about "work," he didn't mind one bit.

I have NO doubt that fans will hear both "In Color" and "Like a Cowboy" when Jamey Johnson and Randy Houser bring their Country Cadillac Part 2 Tour to the Victory Theater in downtown Evansville Sunday, April 3rd.

The first part of Country Cadillac happened in 2021. We're all quite fortunate that there's a sequel and that we'll have an opportunity to see these world-class artists together on one stage, and, yes, I would imagine there will be multiple collaborations.
