Kentucky 3rd Grader Sends Grandmother Hilarious Mother’s Day Card
This week, Sutton Elementary had a Muffins With Mom event before school one day. Kids bring their mothers, grandmothers, or a woman role model to have breakfast together at school. Since it is my first week here at WBKR, I asked my mom aka Mimi if she wanted to go with my son, Rollins, who is in third grade.

The two of them have always been thick as thieves. I have such wonderful memories with my grandparents, and I know Rollins and Mimi are making those memories together too that they both cherish.
Not to mention, she hardly ever tells him 'no,' bakes him biscuits from scratch on sleepover mornings, and does all those messy crafts at her house instead of mine! All of the things good grandmothers are supposed to do to spoil their grandkids. Rollins pays her back, of course, with being the best snuggler, helping her pick up sticks in the yard, and he is always telling her he loves her in the sweetest ways!
After the Muffins With Mom event, my mom texts me to tell me Rollins asked her to bring me something. So, I pop out really quick during a song to meet her in the carport here at WBKR. She hands me a flower from Rollins and shows me a card that he wrote for her. Worried about the message Rollins wrote, she asked me to talk with him to see if he is alright.
So, fast forward to the end of the day. I survive the treacherous pick-up line and Rollins hops in. We chat about his day, and then I ask him how the morning went. I told him Mimi showed me the card he made her and said that if he wanted to talk about his feelings, he can ask me anything. He was like "MOM, what are you talking about? I just made a joke!"
And a little closer...
Turns out his mother and father's dark humor has rubbed off on him. Lord help us!
But look how cute, he signed and dated the bottom. Check out that fancy 'S', y'all remember drawing those?
And don't worry! Mimi is OK! We don't expect her to kick the bucket any time soon, and we sure are grateful for that. If you know her, you know how special she is to us and loved by many.
