Back when I was a student at Sutton Elementary, my answer to the question "What do you want to be when you grow up?" was two-fold.  Like many other young kids, I wanted to be a veterinarian.  However, I also wanted to be Cindy Crawford.  Yep! There may have been a bit of delusion there, but hey.  Shoot for the moon!

Yesterday, I spent the morning with the kiddos at Sutton Elementary School for their Annual Career Day. Oh my gosh, we had SO much fun!! They asked great questions about how we come up with our daily content, what kinds of skills a person needs to have to be in the field of news/media/entertainment. I even got to ask them our poll of the day about what song gets them excited for the day and got some great answers. Lots of Taylor Swift, of course!

Here I am interviewing a future policeman and Olympic track athlete!

Demonstrations from a barber, taste-testing Jordy's food, and everything in between made for a fun-filled day of learning. Sutton did a great job of finding representatives from a diverse range of career paths for the students to survey.

As you can see, we all had an excellent morning learning about different careers, and the kids even got some hands-on experience! One of the students today asked me if I had planned to be on the radio when I was their age. I told them that I had always hoped I would be able to do something as fun as this, but didn't know if it could ever be a reality. I may not be Cindy Crawford, but luckily this is even better.
