Kentucky Wesleyan College Hosting a Huge Multicultural Festival in Owensboro
Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro is hosting the first-ever KWC Multicultural Festival this Saturday on campus. The festivities get underway at 2pm and will continue through 8pm in the Quad area with food trucks, vendors and live music.
Owensboro is already home to the Multicultural Festival held annually at First Presbyterian Church. However, that event, which is held in August, occurs before most area college students have returned to class. Lori Thurman, KWC's Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, wanted to create a festival that gave her students a chance to participate. There are a growing number of international students- not just at KWC, but at Brescia University as well. As Lori says, this festival showcases the fact that there is "strength in diversity!"
A variety of local businesses have jumped on board to sponsor KWC's inaugural multicultural event.
