Football Throw Wins Kentucky Family A $10,000 Home Renovation Prize
A Daviess County, Kentucky family had an epic evening last night in Jefferson County. William Howard, of Knottsville, was selected to participate in a thrilling halftime football-throwing challenge and he careered it!
Saturday evening, the #19 Louisville Cardinals took on Boston College at L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium. Before the game, William and his family were tailgating. William signed up for a chance to win tickets to the UK/UL game. At least, that's what he thought he signed up for. What he won instead was the chance to compete- on the field- for up to $15,000 in home renovations from R&B Roofing and Remodeling.
According to Jenny Howard (William's wife), William was notified before the start of the game that he had been selected to participate. Luckily, the family they were tailgating next to had a football. So, at Jenny's urging, William was able to get some last-minute practice in.
That practice clearly paid off. Though he missed his initial attempt- which would have won him $15,000- he nailed nailed his second throw for a $10,000 prize. William and Jenny's son Greyson was filming as it happened!

As you can hear, Greyson and the rest of the crowd went wild! UL fan John Kidd says, "That was so exciting, it was good to see someone finally win."
In that video, you can see exactly how precise William had to be in order to win. There's a hole in that R&B Roofing and Remodeling logo that's on display between the goal posts. William threw that football directly into it.
Jenny says, "We don't all of the details yet, but he won $$ towards a home makeover/remodel. Such a fun experience!"
And, for some icing on the cake, the Cardinals improved to 6-1 on the season with a 38-24 victory that assures Louisville bowl eligibility. Who knows? Maybe William can be the team's backup quarterback.
