Meadow Lands Elementary Win First Place In Governor’s Cup Competition [PHOTO]
Congratulations are in order for the students at Meadow Lands Elementary School. They placed first overall in the 24th District Governor’s Cup Competition as well as first place in Quick Recall.
The competition was hosted by South Hancock Elementary School. Four elementary schools competed in the 24th District Governor’s Cup Competition. The schools who competed were East View Elementary, Meadow Lands Elementary, North Hancock Elementary and South Hancock Elementary. Each school competed in Future Problem Solving and Written Composition on Monday, Feb. 6.
On Saturday, Feb. 11, the four schools competed in Written Assessment and Quick Recall.

Each year, student representatives from each team vote on which school should receive the Hume Sportsmanship Award. The criteria for selection include sportsmanship, ethics and fair play, spirit of friendly competition, and overall positive decorum, attitude and demeanor. East View Elementary was the school chosen to receive this award.
