Summer produce, tomatoes, corn, whatever your favorite garden veggie, it's all so delicious. What could be better than joining your community for a big old farm-to-table dinner to enjoy all of the bounty?

On Saturday, August 3rd, the Muhlenberg County Tourism Commission will host their 2nd "Farm to Fork" Gala. The gala, which will take place at Muhlenberg Historic Paradise Park in Powderly, is about recognizing and celebrating the contributions of agriculture and the importance it plays in their everyday lives and their community.

The gala will feature a special guest and newly crowned Miss Kentucky, Chapel Tininus.

The keynote speaker for the gala will be Kentucky Deputy Agriculture Commissioner Warren Beeler. He is a former president of the Kentucky Pork Producers Association and a Hall of Fame member, WKU agriculture alumnus of the year, MTSU Animal Science Hall of Fame member, Kentucky Cattlemen's Association service award winner, and Kentucky FFA Distinguished Service Award recipient. Beeler is also regarded as the most experienced livestock judge in the country; he has judged livestock shows for 35 years in 42 states.

The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a social hour featuring hors d'oeuvres from all your favorite farmer's market vendors and enjoy local entertainment from Jay McElwain and Jeff Borders.

The gala is an opportunity to meet local farmers and get a taste of true local produce. Dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. with chicken and beef entrees plus potatoes, green beans, salad, homemade bread, and dessert, including homemade ice cream. Yum!

*Tickets are $40 each and they can be purchased at Eventbrite.com by searching "Farm to Fork Gala". Patrons can also write a check or pay cash for tickets by contacting Misty Stanley at director@visitmuhlenberg.com.

Country Song Titles That Could be Firework Names

Everyone loves a good firework, but some of the names are wild. And since no one in country music has named a track "Whisker Biscuit" or "Husker doos," we put together a list of songs that do exist, but could also double as fireworks.

Is there any that we missed?
