I can't stop smiling, Friday was a big day at my alma mater. A couple of months ago, my sister Hillary (she teaches at OCHS now) asked me for a list of songs from the '60s up until now. For the school's 50th anniversary, which is next year, the staff and the students were going to put together a lip dub video incorporating all the songs. Watch!

Okay, let me break this down a little bit. The school opened in 1965, and science and math teacher Arthur Hale, you see his picture and the man himself peppered throughout the video, has been there from almost day one. Fun fact, both my parents had him as a teacher, I never did! Alas, Mr. Hale is a cool guy, he's hilarious, and he's a huge music lover. You'll also see cameos from former principals, Walter Freeman (he's the guy with his leg propped up on a trash can, yes, he did that all the time), Buddy Shrewsbury, Dean Minton, Scott Lewis, and John Stofer. Current principal, and former teacher/boys' basketball coach Greg Decker, is the Bee Gee in the blue shirt.

And not to toot my own horn, but my sister, Mrs. Wise, is the Go-Go on the far left, and my brother-in-law Bobby, current OCHS baseball coach, is waving one of his players in where you hear Kanye West's "Stronger". And I'll admit, I teared up at the end when the dub ends and the gym is filled to capacity for a big pep rally and I hear the band strike up "Go You Blue Eagles"! I lost it. Now, onto the other big news. Remember when the State Farm's "Celebrate My Drive" campaign was going on? OCHS stayed in the top 20 for a good part of the voting period, however, for finishing as a top 50 school, they were rewarded a $25,000 grant from State Farm!
