Attention Parents of school-aged children!  The State of Kentucky has passed new immunizations laws for ALL students.  Here's what they say-->

All parents are encouraged to make sure that their children are up to date on all their immunizations.

I spoke with DCPS officials and asked what was different from past requirements and why were changes being made.  They told us that there is a new Hepatitis A shots (2 given six months apart) now required for all students from Kindergarten.  They are also requiring students 16 and older get the Menigitis booster which in past was just a suggestion.

Health professionals are seeing a rise in sickness and are trying to be proactive for all of our school systems.  If you have questions or concerns please contact the DCPS at 270-852-7000 or OPS at 270-686-1000.
