Owensboro Dunkin’ Donuts to be Closed Temporarily First Week of August
I go to Dunkin' Donuts almost every weekday morning. I order on the app as I am brushing my teeth and then run out the door. It is directly on the path to the radio station, and they are one of the only shops open that early, so I can get my first dose of caffeine for the day.
If you are a Dunkin' fan, you know they've been working on an expansion to their Owensboro location. A bigger, updated building was built directly behind the current one on Frederica St., and they've put in an additional drive-thru lane. My awesome friends who work the window have been warning me that they plan to close August 2nd through the 7th
They will move to the fancy new space, and the current space will be demolished, making way for more parking/drive thru lane areas. Workers will also finish up concrete work and paint. I know y'all know how the setup there now can sometimes cause cars to line up in the street out front. This seems like it will be less of a problem after the 7th.

Not only will there be a larger area for vehicles, but there will also be more room for customers inside. The new building will be slightly larger at 2,997 square feet with 346 square feet of additional porch space, and 20 parking spaces (four spaces dedicated to mobile order pickup) Employees will have more space as well and a dedicated private break area, which is nice!
If you are like me and Dunkin' is a part of your daily routine, be sure to make a backup plan for the first week of August. I'll be right there in the drive-thru lane as soon as the 8th rolls around! I am super excited to see how nice it all looks once it reopens. How about you? Do you run on Dunkin'?
