If the kids are looking for something fun to participate in this summer the Owensboro Museum of Fine Arts is hosting free kid's art camps.

ANNUAL CAMP

The annual free art series for children has been taking place for years.  The camps are designed to provide a fun visual learning experience for each kid that attends.  The camp allows kids that might not otherwise be able to afford to attend the opportunity.

DATES/TIMES/AGES

The art camps will take place from Tuesday, June 29 through Friday, July 2.  The camps are open to kids ages 6 to 9 and 10-15.  The sessions will be 9-11 for the young kids and 1-3 p.m.

THEME

This year's theme is Flexi Plexi.  Each age group will get to experience different ways to form art and use glass and plexiglass.

REGISTRATION

Registration is completely free but you have to sign your child up.  If you would like to register for the camp click here.

ARTLAND

If you have never had the opportunity to visit the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art make sure to take the kids to learn about Artland.  Artland is a free art studio for kids ages 4 to 12 years old.

The studio is entered through a miniature theatre where the audience may participate in performing arts productions by operating onstage marionettes from ceiling-mounted pulleys. Each month ArtLand offers art instruction on a project designed to be relevant to current museum exhibitions or seasonal and regional events.

The museum has a lot of different areas to explore like the Kaleidoscope Kave, Guided Tours, and the Young At Art Gallery.
