We all know that Lavender is known for its calming properties. Used in many sprays and bath products to inspire relaxation, it can help relieve stress and anxiety which let's face it, we all could use more of that! Did you know it can also help keep pesky bugs away?

Big Roots Lavender Farm

Kentucky is home to Big Roots Lavender Farm at 3204 Truman Young Road, Hawesville, KY 42348. Only twenty minutes from Owensboro, and a little over one hour from Evansville, IN, and Louisville, KY, it makes for a lovely drive in the country. Honestly, what is better than that?  Just roll those windows down and crank up your favorite music on WBKR!  Big Roots is a great little spot to enjoy nature, stock up on quality lavender products, and clear your mind in their walkable Labyrinth.

Now, don't worry, I'm not talking Labyrinth in the goblin-ridden, kidnapping David Bowie sense! There is nothing stressful about this experience.

What is a Labyrinth?

The Labyrinth at Big Roots is not the confusing maze that we are used to seeing in the movies. Instead, this is a walkable path marked in the ground by stones for a moment of quiet meditation. As you walk along the way from the outside in, it is easy to let the worries of life float away as you focus on words of affirmation or envision a goal you would like to achieve. When you reach the center, you can sit or take a moment to listen to nature and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the rows of fragrant lavender. Return to your real world recharged to conquer whatever comes your way.
