In 2013, two former Battle for The Big O finalists made it deep into American Idol.  Owensboro's Jenny Beth Willis was one of the show's Top 20 girls.  And Paul Jolley, who was a finalist in our competition two years ago, made it all the way to the Idol Top 10 and spent the summer on tour with his fellow finalists.  This season, yet another contestant with ties to our annual talent competition is

THIS is why The X Factor is my favorite television talent show.  Each season I am immediately drawn in by big voices, amazing stories and outstanding talent.  And I know that I am not alone.  Last night, WBKR's American Idol expert Steve Thompson made a Facebook post about "the 54-year-old mom singing gospel" and claimed he too has already been sucked in to Season 3 of The X Factor.  And

Owensboro's Jenny Beth Willis, fresh off her national television appearance on American Idol, has her sights set on a new competition.  And last week at O'Bryan's Bar and Grill, she took on the song "Up To The Mountain" and blasted her way into the finals of WBKR's Battle for the Big O.  Check out her performance.  It was amazing!

She was a train wreck on American Idol.  And, earlier today, Mariah Carey was a bit of a train wreck on Good Morning America.  Well, at least her dress was!  The back of it busted open and Mariah was left trying to figure out a way to prevent another Janet Jackson moment.  This is pretty hilarious and Mariah, believe it or not, was quick on her feet and handled it pretty well.  WATCH!

Candice Glover has gotten confetti-bombed big time.  Last night, when she was crowned American Idol champion, Candice belted out her single "I Am Beautiful" with streamers wrapped around her head and pieces of confetti in her mouth.  WBKR's Idol expert, Steve Thompson, was tuned in for the coronation and shares his thought about the the champ and the season that was . . .
