I could not believe it when I saw it pop up in my Twitter updates.  Do you know how long The Oak Ridge Boys have been around?  Technically, they started out as the "Oak Ridge Quartet" and they were founded in the 1940s! Here's all the primer on the group.  I've grown up Joe Bonsall, Duane Allen, William Lee Golden, and Richard Sterban as my parents are big fans and they've seen them in concert a couple of times.  I wish I could have found a picture of Golden WITHOUT his mountain man beard, yes, he was once beard-less.  We own a copy of Y'all Come Back Saloon which was released right on the brink of their biggest success in the early 80s.  Who doesn't know "Elvira"?  So on August 6th, The Oak Ridge Boys will finally become official members of the Grand Ole Opry.  Giddy up!
