Tri State Grandma Turns 102 Years Old Today & We Are Celebrating (PHOTOS)

We received the sweetest message from Tammy Gentry asking us to place her sweet grandmother on our birthday list.  She said she was turning 102 today!Eunice Modlin, born January 16, 1916, in Illinois, is 102 years old today.  We wanted to pay a special tribute to her and find out what her secret to living a long life.

I had the opportunity to speak with her granddaughter Tammy, she told me Eunice has 4 children, 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren!  She currently resides in Boonville.

Eunice had a huge wildflower garden.  She loved hunting, farming, and gardening.  She even made her own yogurt.  She was a stay at home momma.  Loved the Lord, sang in the choir and taught bible school.

On Eunice's 100th birthday her 99 year old brother, Jake Hardesty, flew in from Texas to spend her special day with her!  He is still alive and well!

Eunice actually made the Guinness Book of World Records in the 70's for furthest flight of Archery Arrow and also most bullseyes by a female!

Eunice says, the secret to a long life is hard-work, taking a nap when needed, and eating two pieces of dark chocolate a day!

I sure hope I can live as long as Eunice!  What an amazing life she has and continues to live.  It was certainly a blessing hearing her story :)

Eunice will celebrate with family and friends at her son's home.
