Published September 8th, 2013:
I noticed a lot of Facebook chatter late Sunday night (September 8th) regarding an accident at Windy Hollow Speedway in Owensboro. Many were discussing the event as "tragic" and were asking for prayers.
As of 10:26pm Sunday night, the Daviess County Sheriff's office could only confirm that there was an accident at WHS. They could not give me any more information, but we should have more details first thing Monday morning.
According to a bystander, a race car came over the fence and landed on an individual. The witness also said that Life Flight was called. Again, this is an UNOFFICIAL report from a witness at WHS.
Please keep all involved in your prayers.
We will update you with any new information we receive.
