Four Daviess County schools celebrated a tremendous honor today. Whitesville Elementary, Sorgho Elementary, East View Elementary and Country Heights Elementary Schools all became a Lighthouse School with the celebrations to match the huge accomplishment!

Chad and I were able to surprise the kids at Whitesville Elementary and crashed their celebration. It was awesome! We have a lot to be proud of when it comes to our local school systems!

Take a look at the fun!
I was so impressed throughout the ceremony at how confident the kids were in the program. Take a look at this awesome cheer!

See, I wasn't the only one with tears in my eyes, ha!
Becoming a Lighthouse School is a three year process. Not only does the school have to implement the Leader In Me principles into their daily routine, but it really becomes a part of the entire mission and heart of the school. For example, here are the 7 Habits of Happy Kids. I really think us grown-ups should go by this too.
1. Be proactive.
2. Begin with the end in mind.
3. Put first things first.
4. Think win-win.
5. Seek first to understand, then to be understood.
6. Synergize.
7. Sharpen the saw.
Becoming a Lighthouse School is much more than a fun song and a cute poster, it's instilling a way of life into these children that will able them to better succeed in life. I hear the word synergize in my house a lot, and after seeing how awesome this mindset is from being in Whitesville today, I can't wait to see how my daughter grows into an amazing leader.
Oh, y'all didn't think Chad and I would go to an elementary school and not eat lunch did you? Ha! Of course we did!

Major "Thank You" to everyone at Whitesville Elementary for asking us to come celebrate with you today, we loved every minute! You have a very special school and the love and care that these teachers and administration has for their students is obvious and heart-warming.
Congrats to all of the schools who celebrated today and keep up the good work to all of those who are in the process of earning the right to call themselves a Lighthouse School! All of you teachers are the ones who make such an incredible impact on our children and on behalf of parents everywhere... Thank You for treating them, teaching them and loving them, like they're your own.
