Nurses are the backbone of healthcare, the steady hands and kind voices that make the hardest days a little easier. This May, WBKR is teaming up with The Mobile RN to celebrate National Nurses Month in a big way, and we would love it if you could help us shine a light on the nurse who has made a difference in your life. Whether it is a calm presence during a stressful hospital stay or someone who always goes the extra mile, now is the time to say thank you out loud!

Celebrating Nurses All Month Long

Starting Monday, May 4th, 2026, WBKR is kicking off a special Nurses Month celebration that puts the spotlight where it belongs. We're inviting listeners to share stories of nurses who have gone above and beyond. These are the everyday heroes who bring compassion, skill, and heart to their work, and we want to hear about them.

How to Nominate a Nurse

It is easy to take part. Just visit the WBKR app or WBKR.com and upload a photo of the nurse you want to recognize on the form below. Along with the photo, tell us a little about them. What makes them special? How have they impacted patients, families, or even you personally?

All nominations will be collected through Sunday, May 10th, at midnight, so there is plenty of time to get involved and spread the word to friends and family who may want to participate.

Weekly Self-Care Giveaways

To say thank you, WBKR will be selecting one nominated nurse at random on Fridays in May. That means three nurses will each receive a well-deserved self-care package designed to help them relax and recharge.

Each package includes a beautiful floral arrangement, a Fusion Spa gift certificate, and dinner at Cavanaugh’s. It is a small way to give back to those who spend so much of their time caring for others.

Winners will be chosen on May 15, May 22, and May 29 and announced through WBKR.
