The last time I was in Paris, Tennessee, I ate at a buffet restaurant whose name escapes me at the moment. And it may be gone. But it was extraordinary, and it still probably wouldn't hold a candle to what's available at the World's Biggest Fish Fry. The best part? You can settle the argument easily; it's in the same town.

The World's Biggest Fish Fry

There's a lot of amazing cuisine in Paris, France, no doubt, but I bet they don't fry fish like they fry fish in these parts (Kentucky, Tennessee). They may not fry fish at all. Poor them. If you are anywhere near the Henry County fairgrounds this weekend, and you don't get hungry from the aroma, there's something wrong with you.

The fairgrounds will be ground zero for all-you-can-eat fish under the big tent. That catfish comes with hush puppies, beans, fries, and cole slaw. My mouth is watering as we speak. But that unparalleled meal doesn't stand alone.

The World's Biggest Fish Fry also features street dancing, live music, carnival rides, a rodeo, local contests, and vendor booth after vendor booth loaded with all kinds of treasures.

Saturday begins with the Small Fry Parade, followed by the Catfish Races, and then the Junior Fishing Rodeo. All activities at the festival happen across the fairgrounds, downtown Paris, and Williams Lake.

Going strong for 73 years, the World's Biggest Fish Fry wraps up Sunday. Don't miss out on all that good catfish.
