A worker on Owensboro’s Blue Bridge who suffered injuries Monday evening has died. Daviess County coroner Jeff Jones has confirmed that burns on the hands of the 35-year-old repair crew member are consistent with electrocution. On April 23rd, 2013, at approximately 4:45pm, the Owensboro Police Department responded to a bomb threat at Menards, located at 3001 Heartland Crossing Blvd. An investigation was opened after responding units were informed that a male subject made threats to blow up this location during a phone call to the store.

I remember January 3rd, 2000 very well. It was a holiday here at WBKR studios and I had worked for a couple of hours early that morning. By that afternoon, it was sunny. Our temperatures were hovering near 80 degrees and I was ready for a big afternoon nap. That nap was cut short. Cut short by blaring emergency alert sirens ringing through Owensboro-Daviess County. I jumped out of bed and headed for the station. I knew if a storm was going to hit, that's where I needed to be. Boy, did it hit. I love food. I especially love Italian food. And I love any chance I get to eat somewhere new. So, Friday night, I dropped by the brand new Mirko Pasta location at Wesleyan Park Plaza here in Owensboro to give it a try. Oh my goodness. I love pasta anyway. But at Mirko all the pastas and sauces are handmade. I had apple, sage and sausage ravioli with pesto sauce and it was ridonkulous! In fact, I'm not sure how you say "ridonkulous" in Italian, but I may have to figure it out now . So, what is Mirko Pasta and where did it come from? Honestly, before the sign went up at the Owensboro location, I had never even heard of it. So, I did some digging and found out a little history about Mirko. Check it out!
