Teen Arrested Over New Fires At Owensboro’s First Christian Church
Last Monday, March 18th, the First Christian Church in Owensboro caught fire. Sunday, March 25th, a juvenile is reported to have started small fires inside the church.

On March 24th, 2013, at approximately 3:00 p.m., the Owensboro Police Department responded to First Christian Church located at 700 J. R. Miller Blvd. on a report of a suspicious person.
Upon arrival, officers observed smoke inside the church and determined that several small fires were burning. OFD was called to the scene and extinguished the fires which caused minimal damage.
Further investigation by OPD detectives revealed that a male juvenile had unlawfully entered the premises which was closed to the public due to a recent fire. The juvenile started the small fires and stole food items from the location.
The juvenile was transported to the Warren Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
