This year's Polar Bear Plunge is going to feature a bunch of changes.  The first change, announced a few months ago, is the big move to downtown Owensboro.  Another huge change will be the Plunge itself.  Instead of jumping into a lake or a swimming pool, this year's plungers are going to climb up a gigantic inflatable slide and barrel down it into a pool of freezing cold water.  It's going to be a blast.  An Arctic one!

Here's how the recent Polar Bear Plunge went down in Murray, Kentucky.  They were the first Plunge in the state to use a slide and it was a big hit.  WATCH!

The 2015 Polar Bear Plunge will take place Saturday, February 14th at Mitch McConnell Plaza. Registration will take place at the Hampton Inn Downtown Owensboro.  Plungers are asked to raise $75 per person and all proceeds benefit Special Olympics Kentucky. And, be sure to come in costume.  Shortly before the Plunge there will be a costume contest and the winners get some really cool prizes.

And, don't forget, this year's Plunge has another special event to go along with it.  It's the Donut Dash 5K and will take place in downtown Owensboro before the Plunge. And, yes.  It's exactly what it sounds like.  You run a little bit and get a donut.  You run some more and get another Rolling Pin donut.  It's going to be so much fun and we're excited to bring this event to the downtown area.  To get additional info about the Donut Dash 5K, CLICK HERE!

We'll see you downtown on Valentine's Day for the Donut Dash 5K and the Polar Bear Plunge.  We're gonna be freezin' for a reason.  And that reason is Special Olympics Kentucky!
