Fans Buzzing About Holiday World’s Next Big Attraction
Here's what we know for certain. Holiday World is teasing a big announcement about its 2027 season. I know what you're thinking. "But, it's not even 2026 yet." True! But, during the last couple of months the holiday-themed park has been dropping some Easter eggs about the possible arrival of a new attraction.
POUR SOME GRAVY ON ME
Allegedly, there's an Easter egg hidden in Holiday World's "Pour Some Gravy On Me" video, which was released earlier this year to help promote the annual Holidays in the Sky drone show and second year of the park's newest coaster- Good Gravy!

I am going to confess it. I think I caught it. I am 100% sure I have pinpointed the clue. If it's really there, I saw it. I caught it. I'm onto it.
Some of the clues the park's sharing are more obvious. Honestly, it's hard to miss them. I visited the park last week to enjoy its first-ever Thursday Night Bites event and I noticed that the 'Easter eggs' are getting bigger and more obvious.
WHAT'S UP WITH THE FLIP FLOPS AT HOLIDAY WORLD?
There's fencing that completely surrounds the section of the park that was formerly home to Raging Rapids, a popular ride which closed a couple of years ago. If you peek through the fence, it's very clear that the park is already excavating that land. The park guest-side of the fence is decorated with images of red, white and blue flip flops.
If you zoom in, you'll see that the images confirm that something new is on the horizon in 2027.
To me, the intentional use of red, white and blue indicates that the new attraction (whatever it is) will be considered, officially, part of the 4th of July section of the park. That's evident.
But, what is it? What in the heck is it going to be?
Over the years, I have spent some time at Holiday World's annual coaster enthusiast event- Holiwood Nights. I have learned that some roller coaster enthusiasts are also amateur/professional sleuths. A few years ago, when I was asked to emcee the big reveal of Cheetah Chase, a coaster enthusiast was in the crowd. Before the announcement was officially made, he told me what he thought the park was adding. He was right! On every. Single. Detail. It was mind-blowing.
So, to dive deeper into the newest Holiday World mystery and to see what the enthusiasts are saying, I hopped onto the Reddit thread. I knew there would be one and it delivered.
NEW COASTER AT HOLIDAY WORLD?

Yeah. Good guess. That's an pretty good theory. The next time you're at the park, notice how the flip flops are stenciled on the fence in a way that mirrors the ups and downs of a coaster. Here's a theory that elaborates on that and zeroes in to hypothesize what kind of coaster is coming.

This Reddit user went even a step further and suggested a manufacturer and model type for the coaster- if there's indeed going to be one.

Confession. I had to look up 'Vekoma STC' and learned that it's a 'suspended thrill coaster.' That certainly could work. I mean, an image we all have of suspended coasters is of riders riding barefoot because they kicked their flip flops off at the loading dock. That's a pretty good guess. However, I'm not sure about it. Thunderbird is a winged coaster and I think an inverted coaster, within a decade of that ride's debut, may too closely resemble that. If Holiday World's adding to its portfolio, my gut tells me they're going to want even more variety. It's the following guess that I think may be right on the money. Or should I say- right on track? In fact, this guess mirrors the Easter egg that I am pretty sure I caught in the "Pour Some Gravy on Me" video.

I love the idea. I love the title. I think it fits the park, its image and its business model. I think MrBrightSide711 is onto something with Surfin' USA. If he's right, it's going to be a heckuva lot of fun.
So, what exactly is a surf coaster? If you haven't seen one before, check this out! Here's a ride on the Surf Coaster at SeaWorld in Orlando.
Is Holiday World getting its own surf coaster? We'll have to wait to find out. In the meantime, I'll keep 'surfing' around the internet and the park for more clues.
