Bremen Elementary Students Return to Special Guests
I'm not sure any of the communities affected by the December 11th tornadoes in Western Kentucky will ever be the same, however, in Bremen, a town of 350 residents that lost 11 in Muhlenberg County, students returned to the elementary school after an extended holiday break on Tuesday to some special guests and some much-needed fun.
The students had two special visitors, two therapy dogs named "Grit" and "Bella".
The students, dressed in their PJs, also got to enjoy their delayed Christmas parties with hot chocolate and cookies.
The EF-4 tornado that struck Bremen off KY-81 as part of a string of strong tornadoes that tore through western Kentucky, spared the elementary school and the school served as a temporary shelter and makeshift warehouse over the extended holiday break. Muhlenberg School officials say 70 students were directly impacted by the tornado.
Just over the New Year's weekend, Bowling Green was hit again with a tornado while an EF-2 twister touched down in Hopkinsville.
