Job Description

This position will be located at FB Culley power plant and is primarily responsible for electrical engineering within the facility.

Purpose

The Plant Engineer Level 1 provides an introductory knowledge level of technical support for the Production and Maintenance Departments of the power plant by implementing plant improvements and assisting in problem solving.

Main Accountabilities Safety: Identify safety as a priority with all work assignments.

Process Monitoring: Introductory knowledge level of experience to assist in the monitoring and reporting on the performance of the plant’s equipment to determine opportunities for improvement or to forestall operational and maintenance costs. Introductory knowledge level of experience to assist in the compiling of process information to assist the Production or Maintenance Departments in decision making on process related issues. Introductory knowledge level of experience to assist in conducting predictive maintenance activities to monitor plant processes.

Plant Improvement:

Introductory knowledge level of experience to assist in the monitoring and evaluating of plant processes to identify process improvement opportunities. Introductory knowledge level of experience to assist in plant improvement projects through design and preparation of specifications. Introductory knowledge level of experience to coordinate improvement project approval, construction, and commissioning, as well as to assist Supply Chain with the coordination of procurement. Introductory knowledge level of experience to coordinate contractor maintenance and construction projects.

Qualifications

Education Essential: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.

Preferred: Continuing education course work in technical or managerial disciplines.

Work Experience Essential:0–2 years. Basic understanding of power plant operations.

Preferred: Power plant operations experience or equivalent. Experience in coordinating and planning utilization of contractor services. Ability to describe complex processes to plant maintenance and operations personnel. Application and knowledge of statistical process control.
