Christmas is only a few weeks away and many of you like to use real Christmas Trees in your homes.  Now you can donate that tree to an amazing cause after the holiday has passed.

The Elephant Sanctuary provides a place of rest and refuges for many elephants.

According to Lead Care Giver Kristy E. who helped to get the program up and running “The purpose of this program is to not only provide the elephants with more variety to their diet but to also allow the public to donate and connect to the elephants.

If you know elephants you know they have huge appetites and eat mainly grass, trees, plants and fruits.  Giving the Elephants a Christmas Tree would actually make up a daily meal portion for them.

The elephants that live in the sanctuary are ones that have been retired as performance elephants.

Donations start December 26 and will be accepted through January 6.
