Erin Grant Presents: Throwback Thursday!
All right, I'm finally giving into the "Throwback Thursday" madness with a photo essay. These are going to kind of be in random order, but I'd say the oldest I am in the pictures is 4 or 5. Let's do it.

I'm guessing I'm helping either with cookies or biscuits; I'm going to go with cookies. Long story short, I don't cook. I also don't bake. I think there's just an age where all kids want to make a mess, er, I mean help in the kitchen. The only other pictures I have of me in this kitchen, I was helping dye Easter eggs. I think all of the chefs/cooks/hosts at the Food Network, their jobs are safe.

Yes, I was in ballet/dance for about six years. I have no idea what I'm doing here; maybe I'm trying to get a chorus of "Y.M.C.A." going. Two stories, first one, when I was on stage during my first recital, the "call of nature" hit me, thus, I ran off stage to take care of some business. Don't judge, it was just number 1. Next story, during my second recital, and I should note these recitals were held at Daviess Co. High School, there was a bad storm and the power went out. I was terrified! So terrified, I didn't go back to dance for a couple of years. And honestly, that was the only time I really afraid of the dark. Go figure.

A lot of the pictures I found were taken around the holidays. And yes friends, I received He-Man, Skeletor, Beast Man (?), and Castle Grayskull on this particular Christmas morning. No Barbie dolls for me! My parents would try and throw in a more girl-appropriate toy, but I totally ignored them. I eventually gave in when the Care Bears hit it big, and that also goes for Cabbage Patch Kids. I got a boy Cabbage Patch Kid against my will. His name was Spencer Abe.

Last one, and this one is pretty special. I LOVED The Muppets! Wait, I still do. And we had this Muppet book that had an awesome picture of Animal drumming. I obsessed over it day after day. I can't remember if I asked for a drum set, but for my 5th birthday, there it was. Oh my I had a blast! The only downside to a toy drum set? The drums are not really drums, they are made up of a strong construction paper stretched over a tin frame. One hard hit, they were done for. Nevertheless, I would go on to play percussion in middle school, in high school, and one year in college. We all have to start somewhere.
