Huge Fall Rummage Sale To Benefit Local Women & Children’s Homeless Shelter This Weekend
Do your kiddos need fall and winter clothing? How about you? There's a huge Fall Rummage Sale in Owensboro this weekend to benefit a local homeless shelter and we've got all the details.
WHAT IS MY SISTER'S KEEPER?
My Sister’s Keeper Emergency Shelter's mission is to improve the lives of women and children of all ages experiencing homelessness by providing emergency shelter, basic temporary needs, safety, support, education, tools, and resources that empower them to improve the quality of their lives, help to equip them with the skills to achieve self-sufficiency and build safe, secure lives.
Angel here and I am the Founder/Executive Director for My Sister's Keeper. We are so excited to be right on the brink of opening our doors and these types of fundraisers help our mission tremendously.
I remember being a single mom and living paycheck to paycheck trying to survive. Sales like these help those who need to save.
LEARNING HOW TO SHOP WHEN YOU HAVE MULTIPLE CHILDREN
Angel here and this week's bargain may be one of my best yet. Not just because I am hosting the sale but because it is super duper (is that a word) cheap!
I have learned as a mom that kids' clothes are expensive. There is absolutely no point in spending oodles and oodles of money on their outfits to have the rip holes in the knees and outgrown them by the time they wear something for a second time.
When older boys were growing up and I was a single mom we shopped a lot of rummage sales. We made it fun and they would find some of the nicest, name-brand items.
ALL THE SALE DETAILS
The fall children's rummage sale will be full of thousands of clothing items and shoes for just $1 per piece. Not only is there clothing there will be purses, accessories for kids, bedding, lots of nice toys, and more.
Nothing will be over $5 and there will be some larger items in the mix of stuff. The only exception is larger furniture items. We do have a few pieces and those will be sold for a little bit more but still at a bargain price.
Families can literally find clothing with store tags on the items and they will still get them for just $1. If you're looking for a winter coat or snow boots this is the place to look. You never know what you'll find.
We even have Halloween Costumes!
The sale is taking place at 731 Jackson Street and will be held Friday, October 14, from 4-6:30 p.m. and Saturday, October 15, from 7:30-11 a.m.
