This week we are honoring the best and brightest nurses in the tri-state, based on your nominations. Shouldn't we all thank a nurse that impacts our community every single day and in the most important way? Here at WBKR, we say yes. Yes we should! We've teamed up with Madisonville Garage Doors to do just that.

Jenny Marshall is an incredible nurse and human. She was nominated multiple times, and is the first nurse to be recognized for National Nurses Week. Here's what has been said about her compassion, care and work ethic.

"Jenny has been working nonstop, for 10-12 hours a day. Then going back to cover night shifts due to being short staffed. She treats her patients like family and always goes above and beyond to make sure they’re taken care of. Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, the staff has been shortened, and the list of needs of people have got longer. Jenny hasn’t missed a step and is constantly putting the nursing facility ahead of anything else in her life."

"I have worked with Jenny and have seen her care and compassion up close. She loves and cares for her residents like they are her own family. If you were to ask her, she'd say that they are indeed her family. Jenny will make sure no resident is left out on holidays. She goes above and beyond!"

"Jenny loves her job and loves to help others. I have never seen someone love and care so much for they elderly like she does. They are not her patients, they are her family."

"My daughter is one of those people who was meant to be a nurse. She doesn't do it for the money, she does it to help people. Now that this virus is going on, she goes from work to home, then back to work. I never get to see her because she's afraid that she'll bring something back to her patients. She worries so much about them. I nominate her because she gives up her life to protect and take care of her patients. Please pick my daughter!"

"I've known Jenny my whole life. She came from a gigantic family, that really didn't have a lot. She worked her way through college and became a nurse. She now has fibromyalgia, and still works everyday through the pain. She gets so tired and sick, but still works her way through it! She is an amazing mother, sister, daughter, friend, family member, but most of all nurse!"

Thank you Jenny for going above and beyond the call of duty to provide amazing patient care. Keep up the great work!
