KY Singer-Songwriter Releases Cover of Classic 90s Country Hit
Owensboro and the surrounding area have some amazing musicians. From full bands to singer-songwriters, if you are looking for live music, you'll be able to find it most any day of the week especially when the weather warms up.
One of my favorite places to go is "where live music lives" at Brasher's Lil' Nashville. With weekly line-ups of local performers and traveling acts from Music City and beyond, it's a great spot to get a drink and dance in your seat or on the dance floor.
They even have a line-dancing class that meets once a week, and it is SO MUCH FUN. Queen Tonya and her group of loyal dancers are so nice and always welcome newbies if you ever want to give it a try. If you do, you can hang out after and enjoy Josh Merritt on the stage. He plays guitar and sings his original music as well as covers everyone knows and loves.

One of my favorite things about Josh is that when he plays covers, he uses his own style and gets creative with melody, lyrics, rhythm, etc. That's exactly what he has done with his newest song release. "I Just Wanna Dance With You" was made famous by George Strait in 1998. I was also today-years-old, when I learned that it was written by John Prine.
I love that the music video for Josh Merritt's version of 'I Just Wanna Dance With You' is set at Brasher's Lil Nashville and features the line-dancing pros who meet there every Wednesday. I'm always super impressed watching them do their thing. They make it look so easy and cool! Here it is for your viewing and listening pleasure.
The song is available to download here. Be sure to follow Josh Merritt on Facebook to see when and where he performs around the Tri-State.
