WBKR’s St. Jude Radiothon

Tomorrow we begin the two days of the year all of us consider among the most important of the year. We all -- you and WBKR -- raise funds to help save the lives of children. My role Thursday and Friday will be ton chronicle the events of the day in picture form so that you -- if you can't join us in person -- may share the good and sad times with us.

Today we look back at some past St. Jude Radiothons.From 2007, me, Kristin from St. Jude, Chad and our General Manager LaDonne Craig.

That year we raised a little over $35,000.

Lots of people help us by answering the phones and taking your pledges to become "Partners in Hope". Daviess County Judge Executive Al Mattingly signs up another.

We also like it when performers join us. They bring their fans to the table, meaning the atists asks their fans to contribute.

This is one of my favorites. 

The gentleman is the late Joe Lowe with the lady Jaclyn Graves. During our radiothons, Joe would take a break from his morning show on our sister station, WOMI-AM, and come over to the WBKR studio and encourage our listeners to become Partners in Hope. Joe, who passed away October 15, always renewed his St. Jude Partner in Hope.
