The first country concert I ever saw was Garth Brooks' tour way back in the late 90's.  And, I can honestly say, I haven't seen anything like it since.  But, there is good news brewing and rumors are swirling that Garth may be ready to hit the road again in 2014. But are the rumors true?  We aren't sure but it appears the thunder may be rolling.

Wednesday evening, I got a text message from my friend Dr. Laura Richey, who takes care of my animals Wilma, Dolly and Oprah over at Kentuckiana Animal Clinic.   That message said, "Just heard Garth is going to tour in 2014!!!"  And, yes.  She actually used THREE exclamation points.  LOL!   So, I started doing some digging online, but didn't manage to come up with much.

In fact, all I could find online was a Taste of Country article from November of 2012. That article references a Las Vegas Review Journal story in which hotel mogul Steve Wynn was interviewed. He claimed that Garth was "itching to get started on a world tour" and that tour would launch in the fall of 2014.

But, since 2012, that's pretty much all we've heard about it and everyone has been pretty quiet.  Until now.  Laura's sister, Robyn, actually stumbled across the article and now the wheels are turning here at WBKR.

This morning, I decided to check Garth's official website to see if there was any news posted there.  While I didn't find a concrete confirmation, I did find something quite ingenious.  Just five simple words . . . "Be the first to know."

Yep!  This guy is a marketing genius.  And, with flashes of lightning hitting Garth's homepage and the chance to "be the first to know," it appears that SOMETHING is brewing.  Is it new music?  Is is a 2014 world tour?  Is it both?

Our country music gossip maven Nashville Kat has gotten on the case and, as always, managed to get some additional scoop from AngryCountry.com.  Take a listen . . .

With all these rumors swirling, Kizzy, our hilarious WBKR Waking Crew regular and Garth Brooks super fan, is THRILLED!  She called the show this morning to pay tribute to her man and share her excitement!  LISTEN!!

So, if you're like us here at WBKR, you're "itching" for a Garth tour just like Garth's reportedly "itching" to get back out on the road.  I can tell you this.  I registered my email address on his official homepage.  Nashville Kat registered hers.  If he's cooking up big things for 2014, we definitely want to be the first to know!
